Why Air ALBANIA has elements from Turkish Airlines in their newest Boeing 737-800?
Air Albania started operations from Tirana International Airport to three new destinations in Italy: Rome, Milano and Bologna. This started in September 2019 as mentioned before by Mrs. Balluku the Minister of Infrastructure and Mr. Rama the PrimeMinister of Albania.
The aircraft which operates this routes is a Boeing 737-800, produced in 2016 with the registration TC-JZG. This aircraft was previously operated by Turkish Airlines since its delivery date. The aircraft was pained by Turkish Airlines just some hours before its delivery to Air ALBANIA, it is not fully pained in Air Albania’s livery, it still contains some parts of Turkish Airlines’ livery, like the grey strip in the lower part of the aircraft, the Turkish Flag, the flower symbolizing Turkish Airlines and the parts in the inside of the aircraft written in Turkish instead of in Albanian.
You will ask why is this happening? Here is the answer:
Air Albania does not have an license from EATA to operate flights in the european market, so it needs the help of Turkish Airlines which has an active license to do so. All flights of Air Albania are declared and operated by Turkish Airlines as reported by Flightradar24.
So at the end Air Albania will continue to operate flights under the skin of Turkish Airline until it takes permission from EATA.
